Fake It Baby!

I love the feeling of having a sunkissed natural glow, but have to admit that most of it's out of a bottle! I do have a base tan having been lucky enough to spend a couple of weeks in the Maldives, but being fair skinned I burn all too easily, so prefer to look sunkissed rather than lobster red (lol!) by faking it - it's far safer!!

Here are my top tips & products I use to achieve a natural sunkissed tan...

1. Exfoliate before application to remove any dead skin. This ensures a more even finish. Can easily be done in the shower. I use...

2. Soap & Glory - The Scrub of Your Life £6.64

2. Moisturise paying particular attention to drier areas ie elbows, knees & ankles. I use...

1. Clarin Satin Smooth Body Lotion £29

 3. Apply Fake Tan following instructions carefully. Allow to dry before wearing loose clothing while tan develops. It's a good idea to wear latex gloves or use a mitt to avoid staining on the hands. Once you have finished applying everywhere, remove gloves & carefully apply to the back of the hands. I prefer a spray as I have found this achieves a really even finish with no streaks & is quick to apply, however you do have to cover the floor with old towels!

The key to a natural looking tan is not to apply products too heavily or too often. I apply once a week & re-apply when required.
Once you find a product you're happy with, stick to it! I use...

4. Sunkissed - for a night out I like to add a touch of shimmer. To do this it is better to apply fake tan the day before. Once I have showered I like to mix some moisturiser with a small amount of instant tan shimmer (again wearing the latex gloves). Mixing with the moisturiser reduces the depth of colour as this is only required as a finishing touch! I use...

Easy Chicken, Chorizo & Prawn Paella

If like me you love Paella, but aren't keen on shellfish such as Mussels, then try this recipe.
The beauty of this dish is that it's made in one pan, so totally easy, tastes divine & looks colourful!  Top tip - don't forget to squeeze fresh lemon juice over the Paella before eating, it really adds to the flavour.
An ideal dish to try on friends served with crusty bread & a side salad. Let me know if you love...
