Caramel Pleats

by Adele

This look combines two of my favourite trends: maxi's & pleats! A recent purchase on a shopping trip with my sister Nicola, I especially fell in love with the colour of the skirt. I've already got so many shoes/bags/accessories that will go with this colour so it was a no brainer to buy it!

skirt River Island (new season), vest Topshop, toeposts River Island, bag Topshop, scarf Oasis, watch Michael Kors, arty ring Yves Saint Laurent, earrings All Saints, leather weave bracelet Reiss, sunnies Marc Jacobs, nail varnish Chanel Particuliere

Do you love the pleats trend?

Lemon, Ginger & Mint Quencher

Wednesday, 27 July 2011

by Adele

I've found the perfect summer thirst quencher! I love ginger & use it a lot in cooking, so I was intrigued when I found this recipe using fresh root ginger to make a cold summer drink. The recipe states 4-6 lemons, I used 5 & the result was a perfect balance between the tartness of the lemon, the sweetness of the sugar & the freshness of the ginger & mint.
I'll definitely be serving this as an acoholic alternative at summer BBQ's & outdoor soirees, it's so refreshing.

What's your favourite thirst quencher?

Chanel MakeUp Confidential

Tuesday, 26 July 2011

by Adele

There's nothing like a good "How To" tutorial to get me into the latest hair & make up trends of the season, so imagine my delight when Chanel decided to launch their very own make up How To website Chanel Confidential.

The site has lots of tutorials on key make up colours for the season, how to achieve the look & how to apply foundation to achieve the perfect skin.

I was also surprised to learn that it's a man behind the make up! I don't know why I just automatically thought it would be a woman!!

As I wear a lot of Chanel make up (I'm a bit of an addict if truth be known!!) I've found this new website really useful & informative.

What do you think? Do you know of any other good tutorial websites?

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley: The New Face of Burberry Body

Monday, 25 July 2011

by Adele

There's been a huge buzz about Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in the UK recently. Whether it's her films or her modelling she is defintiely the "girl du jour".

Her latest campaign is for the new fragrance from Burberry - Burberry Body, which is launching in stores 1st September across the globe. I love the way they've used the trench in the shots - so synonomous with Burberry.

It's not the first time Rosie has modelled for Burberry. The Fashion House was instrumental in launching her modelling career. Here are some of the other modelling campaigns she's done for the British brand.

I think she's one of the freshest faces around. What do you think?

Stars

The weather here in the UK has been awful this week...rain, rain & more rain. I guess this is a typical British summer!! Finally grabbed a break in the weather to pop out to the shops, but not before I got Ian to take some quick snaps.
I bought this top with tiny Stars dotted all over it at the weekend while shopping with my sister Nicola. I thought it was a great transitional piece & looks fab with my red & indigo jeans too!

Have you bought into the Stars trend?

top Warehouse (new season), skinny jeans Topshop, sandals River Island, sunglasses Chanel, earrings Vivienne Westwood, watch Rolex, ball bracelet Gucci, heart bracelet Tiffany & Co, rings Marc Jacobs, purse Marc Jacobs, nail varnish Chanel Pulsion

Have a fab weekend everyone xxx.

Chicken Fajitas With Homemade Salsa

Wednesday, 20 July 2011

by Adele

I love Mexican food. I find it a very sociable way of eating & often cook Mexican when eating with friends. Chicken Fajitas is my favourtie Mexican dish. I always use this recipe  from Jamie Oliver's Ministry of Food cookbook when making at home. I've noticed on his website version he also makes the Guacamole himself, so will have to give it a try. The recipe in the book just makes the homemade salsa, which is what I've cooked...

Wrap & enjoy!
And now for the salsa...

Do you like Mexican food? What's your favourite Mexican dish?
