Epic Hot Chocolate

Wednesday, 30 November 2011

by Adele
Monday was one of the coldest days in England, with temperatures barely getting above 5 degrees celcius. I couldn't think of a better way to spend the evening than to cosy up with Ian on the sofa in front of a roaring fire & enjoy a cup of homemade hot choc!

Now this recipe is not for the diet, especially with Xmas party dresses to get into! But hey, a girl is allowed a treat once in a while right? It's so quick & easy to make...what I especially love about homemade hot choc is that it's the real thing, contains no rubbish & tastes soooo much better than shop bought powders.

Go on...treat yourself!!

Sometimes when I buy something new I can't stop wearing it! I bought my cape from Topshop a couple of weeks ago & since then it's been my go to piece. Come to think of it the boots have been pretty much worn constantly too!!
This weekend was my first outing with my new bag, which I think you are going to see a lot more of in posts to come! Hope you love it as much as I do...

Birthday Gifts

Monday, 28 November 2011

by Adele

Thank you so much for all your kind birthday wishes, they really meant a lot to me. I had such a lovely day yesterday. One thing's for sure...the older you get the worse the hangover!

A special birthday called for special presents...

My present from Ian
I wanted a bag that was both classic & timeless. As soon as I first saw Chiara from The Blonde Salad with this bag I fell in love with it, the colour, the style...everything! Then when I saw it in the London Bond Street store I loved it even more!
Thank you so much to Naima who was so helpful & welcoming on the day.

Hermes Collier De Chien ring - from my family & Ian's Mum

I wanted a nice silver ring to go with all my other silver jewellery. I had a few shortlisted to look at, but as soon as I tried this one on I knew this was the one I wanted.

Bought a little treat back for Ian from our trip to London

I also received lots of other presents - including nice girly things such as make-up, candles, fragrance diffuser, a gorgeous fur stole, a cute garden ornament & gift vouchers.

I am so lucky & blessed to receive such wonderful gifts - thank you!

Guess Who's 40 Today!!

Sunday, 27 November 2011

by Adele
Me aged 16 months at Mablethorpe beach 1973
Today is my 40th birthday! I can hardly believe it!!
How do I feel about being 40? Excited to be entering a new decade of my life, but wondering how I got here so quickly! I don't feel 40 so I guess that's a blessing.

Do you like one of my very first outfit posts from the 1970s!
Already striking a pose for the camera!! Back in the day, my parents had their photos developed as slides. A big thanks to my Dad for spending a lot of time converting the slides onto the PC for me.

How am I spending my special day?
Today I'm having a big party...really excited to be spending the day with family & friends! There'll be plenty of Pink Champagne flowing, so I'm sure a sore head is pretty much guaranteed for the morning!!

Beaute Des Ongles: Chanel Mat Top Coat

Thursday, 24 November 2011

by Adele

One of my favourite looks for nails right now is wearing them Mat. A couple of weeks ago I bought the Chanel  Mat Top Coat (£18) & have been trying it out with many of the nail varnishes in my collection. The effects are more striking with darker shades & it looks particularly sophisticated with Chanel Black Satin & Chanel Pirate (gorgeous red!).

Start with nails painted in chosen colour. I've gone for Chanel Pirate.

Ensure nails are dry before applying the Mat Coat.

The Mat coat dries the nails in seconds & totally transforms the nail giving a fresh new look.
I've also been playing around mixing mat & gloss (mat just on ring finger), gloss tips  - there are so many variations to try!!
A great look for Xmas parties me thinks!

Other brands such as YSL are also catching onto the trend, so say "Au Revoir" to your glossy nail varnishes & embrace the new Mat nail trend.

Pancakes USA Stylie!

Wednesday, 23 November 2011

by Adele

I haven't posted a breakfast recipe in a while, so for my own little Happy Thanksgiving to all my American followers I thought I'd make USA style Pancakes!
Every time I visit the States I have to eat these at least once for breakfast & now I realise how easy they are to make at home, they'll definitely be on the weekend breakfast menu whenever I fancy a treat!

For an easy to follow recipe click here

Serve with drizzled Maple or Golden Syrup & a dusting of icing sugar.

Enjoy xoxo
