Detox

January for me means one thing: DETOX!
After all the partying, alcohol & over-indulgence during December, I like to start the new year by cleansing my system & boosting it with a healthy kick start.

CLEANSE...

To cleanse, I give my body a real treat & start with Colon Hydrotherapy.

What is it?
Colonic Hydrotherapy stimulates bowel activity by using filtered water, which flows into the bowel via the rectum. Once the bowel is full, the bowel muscle responds by contracting and eliminating waste matter and the water.
I like the fact that this is a natural treatment which uses the body's natural nerve and muscular response mechanisms.

The Benefits...
The benefits are many - for a full list see here. Personally, I have experienced increased energy levels, a clearer complexion, relief from bloating. Not to mention all the internal benefits I can't see!
For more information click here
If you are interesting in trying this treatment, please ensure you go to a reputed, fully qualified therapist.

I also love this as a reminder of what I should be doing...luckily I incorporate a lot of it into my normal day to day life.

I cut out the bread, alcohol & chocolate for about a month following a treatment & try to eat a healthy, balanced diet.

Have you ever Detoxed? Is it something you would like to try?

Healthy & Happy Thursday Lovelies xoxo

This detox actually seems realistic. I've seen some that are nothing but fruit juices and I can only image what it's like to not eat solid food for 2 weeks...

Great break down of detox foods! I'm revamping my eating habits as well, I need to be stricter on myself and not give in as easily to peer pressuring when eating out!

I haven't ever detoxed, but it is something I would consider after overindulging during the holidays. This sounds like a realistic cleans.

That sounds indeed very healthy and is a good way to kick off a new year. I have never detoxed but I generally watch what I eat (especially in the evenings) and I drink LOTS of water. Working well so far! ;-) Have a wonderful day! xo, Christina

i've done the blue print diet, which was a 6 juice detox. it was hard but i felt great...for a few days. then it was back to normal. i think the concept is great and it probably benefits you more then you can tell. do it girl!

Seems realistic to me! Not too extreme, but significant enough changes to get rid of the holiday bloat. Good luck!

I've never actually done detox - mainly because I don't change my diet any time of the year :D There might be a week here and there when I eat 90% veggies and fruit, and drink detox tea, but detox... not this far. Still, you never know, as everyone out there is having a January diet, maybe I'll get excited about it too :) xoxo

Yes I have! And I'm in the process of doing it again myself. Every time I detox I get a bit tired the first few days. My body's repairing itself after all the abuse the poor thing has taken :)

Good luck, Adele! You'll feel so much better shortly! xoxo

I've never cleansed or detoxed before, but it was on my list of new years resolutions to try one this year. Do you recommend on for the first time?

I am actually in the middle of one now. It is really challenging, because I am still cooking tempting things, but have to pass on them while everyone else enjoys it.

Omg, I didn't see this Detox-post. Love all kinds of "systematic diets" with goals of some type.
Actually you can achieve knowledge of different things through these "programs"

I'm your new follower on blogspot.
And thank you for your opinion of the Chistian Louboutin shoes.
I really need others point of view before buying because I just can't choose on my own.
