Evening Looks Taormina

Evenings in Taormina were about dressing for dinner & cocktails (& the occasional Euro 2012 match!). It was still really warm in the evenings & I sometimes had trouble with my feet swelling in the heat, so could only occasionally wear heels!

Fast becoming my favourite piece of jewellery was my AnnaLou of London cuff c/o notonthehighstreet.com. I wore it daytime & evenings as it goes so well with pretty much any outfit.

So that brings our holiday to Taormina to a close. I hope I've been able to give you a real taste of Sicily throughout the course of this weeks posts. Of course, the best way to beat the holiday blues is to book another one!!!!

Taormina, Sicily

Taormina is definitely somewhere I'd go back to. The place had so much character, plenty of fab shops, gorgeous views, history & beauty.

Looking through these shots again has reminded me just how much we enjoyed our week - I hope they are able to give you a flavour of what we experienced.

The town...

The shops...

The shops were a dream to mooch around. Full of designer clothes, shoes, bags & accessories - Gucci & Prada dresses at 1500euros a pop, an impressive range of Valentino & Versace shoes & bags, lots of Roberto Cavalli & gorgeous Pucci prints to name but a few.

Of course, all way out of my price range, but I really enjoyed being able to browse at leisure.

The beach...

You had to take a cable car from the town down to the beach. It was a pebble beach, which had rows & rows of lido's each with their own sunloungers to hire out. All the changing & bar facilities that you needed.

The history & beauty...

There were quite a few historical sites in & around the town, the largest of which was the Greek ampitheatre (above). We also enjoyed the public gardens, which contained a statue that I just fell in love with!

This was the 3rd time we have been to Italy (previously visiting The Amalfi coast & Lake Como) & re-affirmed why we love this country so much.

Taormina Food & Drink

One of the things we love most about Italy is the food & drink! We ate in some lovely restaurants & found a fab bar, Morgana's that served the best cocktails & accompaniments! 

Daytimes were about cappucinos, gelato & granitas, as well as a few cheeky Prosecco's (well it would be rude not to!!). 

I took instagrams (click in my sidebar to follow me) of our food, as it's more discreet than getting a big DSLR out!! Those of you who follow me on instagram (@intotheblonde) & Twitter will have seen these shots in real time, as I posted daily during our holiday.

As I knew we were going to be out & about during the day, I mainly based my outfits around separates that were easy to mix & match, whilst keeping me cool in the 32 degree heat.
