Those that know me & have followed my blog for a while will already know how partial I am to a few cocktails!
On Saturday night, we headed to our local Frankie & Bennys. There was a great buzz about the place, as it was really busy - I always love walking into somewhere with a good atmosphere!
Cocktails
There was a broad choice on the cocktail menu, from seasoned favourites like the Cosmopolitan, to new cocktails like the Espresso Martini. All cocktails were reasonably priced. Mocktails (non alcoholic) were also available.
My absolute favourite cocktail is a Mojito, so naturally I started with a Mojito as for me, this would be the ultimate gauge on how good the cocktails were.
Unfortunately, it missed the mark slightly, mainly as the flavour was just one-dimensional, I could only taste the lime, not the mint, the sweetness from the sugar or the alcohol.
Other cocktails we tried were the Bramble (Bombay Sapphire gin, fresh lemon juice, sugar and Chambord black-raspberry liqueur) & the Strawberry Daiquiri, which in my opinion were much better made.
Food
We also had an enjoyable meal. If you don't know Frankie & Bennys, it's a no frills Italian/American eaterie with an American diner feel to it, serving pizzas/pasta/steaks/burgers etc.
The food was good & wholesome, in fact the portions were really plentiful so I could only manage 2 courses. Ian had a gorgeous Sticky Toffee Pudding with vanilla ice cream for dessert.
Despite how busy it was, we received excellent service both at the bar & during our meal!
Thanks Frankie & Bennys for a fab evening!
Have you ever eaten at a Frankie & Bennys?
Have a fab Thursday Lovelies
