Happy Thursday Lovelies!
Having visited Dubrovnik 3 years ago (which I would also highly recommend) we decided this year we wanted to holiday in Croatia again.
A different kind of holiday to Mexico earlier this year, we spent a lovely week exploring Split, which is Croatia's 2nd largest city after it's capital Zagreb.
Behind the modern promenade along the sea front (the Riva), was the historic old town with it's ruins, the palace, narrow cobbled streets & cafe lined squares.
I loved that everything was easily accessible by foot - needless to say we did a fair amount of mooching, exploring the historical sites & stopping for drinks to watch the world go by.
As Croatia is not in the Euro (yet!), eating & drinking is extremely reasonably priced & good value for money compared to European countries we've visited such as France or Italy, & being situated on the coast there is plenty of lovely fresh fish to eat.
As you can see from the photos, the weather was perfect, a comfortable 28-29 degrees, with a welcome cool breeze on the sea front.
Our week in Split definitely re-affirmed our love of Croatia & it's people.
Thanks for reading Lovelies
