Review: Lancome Hydra Zen Gift Set

Thursday, 26 September 2013

Happy Thursday Lovelies!

If you read my 25 Facts About Me post you'll already know that I swim every morning - the chlorine really dehydrates my skin, so when the Beauty Team at Harrods kindly sent me a Lancome Hydra Zen gift set to try I was intrigued to see if it could offer my chlorine battered skin some sort of relief.
Lancome is a brand I know, use & trust.

What's In The Box...
I tend to steer clear of buying skin care gift sets, as I often find they contain some products I would never use, but this was not the case with the Lancome Hydra Zen Gift Set, which contained...
* Hydra Zen Neurocalm soothing anti stress moisturising cream 50ml
*Hydra Zen Nuit Neurocalm soothing recharging night cream 15ml
* Genefique youth activator serum 7ml
* Visionnaire advanced skin corrector 7ml

The Science Behind The Skincare...
Both the Hydra Zen moisturising cream & the recharging night cream contain Lancome's Neurocalm formula made up of plant based ingredients. These aim to soothe the skin, reducing the effects of emotional & environmental stress on the skin.
As well as this, the creams promise to deliver some intense, lasting re-hydration to the skin getting into the epidermis to prevent further dehydration.

On Application...
...I preferred the texture of the night cream, which glided on & made my skin feel amazingly soft. The moisturising cream is thicker & takes longer for the skin to absorb. On first application I used a little too much, leaving a lovely white residue on my skin which I had to massage in a fair bit!!
Both creams are non-greasy when they sit on the skin.

on my face :: Lancome Hydra Zen Anti Stress Moisturising Cream
Underneath the creams I've been applying the Genefique serum all over my face & neck. I actually use this serum regularly & swear by it - it's definitely one of the best youth serums on the market in my book, so the handy travel size in the set has been perfect to slip into my swimming washbag.

top :: Lancome Genefique Youth Activator
bottom :: Lancome Visionnaire Skin Corrector
The Visionnaire skin corrector is easily absorbed & designed to be worn with the Genefique. It targets wrinkles, pores & evenness. I've been focusing it on my T zone to target my enlarged pores & can definitely see a difference in the appearance of my pores, which look noticeably reduced.

Would I Re-Purchase/Recommend?
The big difference I've noticed is how much plumper & "happier" my skin looks - I'm putting this down to it being properly hydrated. Both creams deliver on this & I think my skin is truly thanking me for it!

right :: Lancome Hydra Zen Anti Stress Moisturising Cream
I've been most impressed with the night cream. I love the feel of my skin after applying & when I wake in the morning my face seems to have a dewy, more radiant glow.
I'll also be switching products from my current pore minimiser to Lancome's Visionnaire Skin Corrector.
The moisturising cream delivers day long hydration & nourishment. I've noticed that my skin doesn't tighten up as the day goes on & make up still looks fresh towards the end of the day.

It's not often you come across total skin savior products where you can visibly notice a difference. I'll definitely be re-purchasing, which in my book is the biggest recommendation anyone can give.

A massive thank you to the Harrods Beauty Team for introducing me to Lancome Hydra Zen.

Thanks for reading
Have a beautiful Thursday Lovelies
