Happy Wednesday Lovelies!

If you're a coffee lover like I am, you'll love this classic Spanish drink/dessert. You can make it as simple or as elaborate as you like - simple is just a dollop of vanilla ice cream in the top of your black coffee which melts & melanges with the coffee to make a yummylicious drink.
Elaborate is going all out to make it more of a dessert by adding sugar, whipped cream & any naughty toppings you care to indulge in....something like this.
Personally, I like to keep things fairly simple as this is a drink I often round off my Sunday Roast with, so by that time I'm pretty well stuffed!!

Here's how to make...

Get your coffee glasses & warm them through while you make your coffee

If you don't have a coffee maker at home, you can use a cafetiere, but always try to use good quality coffee. I'm a particular fan of Illy coffee, but always have decafinated - the flavour is just as good as fully loaded coffee

Pour your coffee into the glass, I've used a double shot espresso - you need to fill it up about half way

Place a generous dollop of good quality vanilla ice cream (I'm using Haagen Dazs) in the top of the glass & add any chosen toppings - a 99 Flake takes me back to my childhood!!

The ice cream melts & swirls into the coffee making all sorts of pretty patterns!

Drink up pronto & enjoy!

Have a yummy Wednesday Lovelies

I'm a super coffee lover but unfortunately can only drink decaf.. This is a great recipe especially with the extra naughty topping;) In Italy we always used to have a similar dessert called 'Affogato al caffe''. Have a great day! x
