Beauty: May Favourites

Monday, 2 June 2014

Happy Monday Lovelies!

Beauty wise, May was a month I tried some great new products that I can't wait to shout about & share with you. So without further ado, let's dive straight in...I'm starting with my absolute favourite new product...

Chanel Les Beiges All-In-One Healthy Glow Fluid

Chanel Les Beiges All-In-One Healthy Glow Fluid
I was lucky enough to receive a sample of this "wonder product" & was completely smitten upon the first wear. Of course, I could go on about all the amazing properties the fluid contains (white rose plant cells & cotton flower to name a couple), but I'll let you read the science bit for yourselves, if you're interested.

All you need to know is it gives your complexion a fresh, dewy, radiant glow, as well as evening out any skin irregularities. It's light to wear on the skin, is designed to hydrate. Coverage & longevity is, in my experience excellent. It's oil free formula is suitable for sensitive skin, which is great for me as I can react to certain products (like YSL Touche Eclat). It has a built in SPF 15.

Here's a FOTD shot. I'm wearing Diorshow BB Cream in shade 002 as a base, with Chanel Les Beiges All-In-One Healthy Glow Fluid in shade No 30 on top. Considering I've had four weeks of broken nights sleep since Eric arrived (yes, I do feel & look pretty knackered!!) I'm pleased with the result!

Yes, it's pricey - £34 for a mere 30ml, but on application, a lot seems to go a long way. I'm yet to know how long a tube will last!
Have any of you tried this product? I'd love to know your thoughts.

Nails...

Essie Spin The Bottle
Two new colours from the Essie Spring '14 range, I made a bee line for Spin The Bottle, which is a perfect classic nude - more on the beige side rather than pink. Application wise, it's one of the better shades to apply as it's not as streaky as Fiji or Find Me An Oasis.

Here it is on...

Essie Style Hunter
I fell in love with the name Style Hunter as well as it's colour, which I would describe as a bold crimson. So far, I've only worn this shade on my toes - it's gorgeously striking, so much so that I forgot to take a photo of it!

Sally Hansen Gel Cuticle Remover
Staying with nails I thought I'd share with you my favourite cuticle remover. I don't know why but I always feel I have stubborn cuticles!! The Sally Hansen Gel Cuticle Remover is cheap at only £6.45, but more importantly it works, quickly removing any excess cuticle. I love that it's a gel, which is my preferred type of cuticle remover.

You simply apply a small amount on the cuticle & wait 8-10 mins before pushing back the cuticles to remove the excess. Then just wash your hands in warm soapy water & voila!

If you remember my earlier beauty monthly favourite posts, you'll know I'm a fan of YSL Shocking Mascara. This month saw me totally converted to Le Volume De Chanel Waterproof Mascara.
It creates the same wide eyed voluminous end result as the YSL Shocking but it's waterproof. For me, it looks more natural on the lash & on application seems to coat & separate the lashes better.

I'm wearing it in the selfie photo earlier on in the post - what do you think?

Finally, just to let you know that Estee Lauder counters have a fab little make up/skincasre set free with two purchases. The samples in the set are all totally wearable.

Perfect to slip into your handbag!

That's it for May's beauty bits!
Do let me know what beauty products you've been loving lately in the comments, it's always great to get recommendations.

Wishing you all a fabulous month of June!
