Beauty: July Favourites

Monday, 4 August 2014

Happy Monday Lovelies!

In this month's beauty favourites I've got some fabulous new products (new to me that is!) that I've fallen head over heels with. As such, they're totally blog worthy & all I would re purchase, which really is the best recommendation you can give to someone, right?

MAC 15 Cool Neutral Eye Shadow Palette

MAC 15 Cool Neutral Eye Shadow Palette - link!

I first saw this palette on Tamara's blog & was instantly smitten. All of the colours were exactly the shades I love to wear & the fact that they were in one handy palette really appealed to me - perfect for taking away too, instead of taking the 3 or 4 different eye shadow compacts with all my faves in.

First impressions...all 15 of the shades are so wearable. There are plenty of neutrals for daywear, as well as a fab silver/grey/black for creating the perfect smokey eye & more night time appropriate looks. Talking of smokey eyes, there are also some fab pinks/plum shades - I often like to use these colours to create a smokey eye effect.

Onto the colours...the 15 shades are made up of both matte & shimmer shadows so you have the best of both worlds. The top row is pinks, plums & a gorgeous deep burgundy (perfect for AW14 make up), the middle row contains gorgeous nudes, a light copper & some rich deep browns, the bottom row is perfect for a night out with all the shades from silver, pale gold, greys & black.

The palette costs £65 which sounds a lot but equates to £4.33 per eye shadow, which in my book is an absolute bargain & much cheaper than buying the colours individually.

This really is the Mother of all eye shadow palettes. I've used it so much already & would 100% recommend it.

benefit High Brow Glow

As a daily user of benefit High Brow I couldn't wait to get my hands on the luminous version. Both are brow highlighters & are designed to be applied on the brow bone to highlight, lift & define. The original is matte pink, whereas the glow is more of a champagne colour, which works brilliantly against brown brows.
You can see the difference here...

I love both & depending on the colours I'm applying on my eyes will continue to use both, but for me the High Brow Glow definitely has the edge & is the one I always reach for when doing my make up for a night out.

Clarins One Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser

Clarins One Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser - link!

I chose a 50ml tube of this product as part of my Clarins Bonus Gift last month & I'm sooooo glad I did. Gentle enough to use every day it's one of those wonder products that multi tasks - as well as removing make up, it cleanses & gently exfoliates the skin, removing even the deepest impurities whilst respecting the skins hydrolipidic film (this is the skins natural barrier). Containing Orange Extract it smells divine too!

On application the exfoliating granules are tiny which means it's not too harsh, my face feels clean & smooth.
I swear this has made a huge difference to the smoothness & radiance of the skin on my face & as a result I'll be re-purchasing when I hit duty free at the end of this month.

No7 Lift & Luminate Day & Night Creams

No7 Lift & Luminate Day - Link! & Night Cream - Link!

There's been a lot of hype about Boots No7 new skincare range. The built in technology has been proven to work & that always makes me want to try a product!!
I'd ran out of my usual Clarins day & night creams (last talked about here) & with no holiday abroad to capitalise on duty free I thought I'd give them a whirl.
This range is directed at ages 45-60. As I'm only 3 years off 45 I thought I'd go into the next age bracket up. As we get older our skin starts to lose collagen & begins to sag - these creams lift & firm as well as containing all the Protect & Perfect Technology  - reducing fine lines & wrinkles, reducing uneven skin pigmentation.

These creams are quite thick on application but absorb nicely into the skin...take a look...

Top: day cream  Bottom: night cream
The promise is younger looking skin in 4 weeks, now that can't be bad can it!
I really love how these creams sit on the skin & would definitely re-purchase. I'm also going to check out the eye cream I'm that impressed. They seem as good as the Clarins & at £24 a pot they're about half the price!

So bye bye July - August see's the launch of Chanel's AW14 make up collection, so can't wait to try out my favourite pieces (I'll be making a bee line for the nail varnishes).

What were your favourite beauty products last month? Any recommends for me?

Wishing you all a wonderful week!

The palette looks great but I'd be a bit overwhelmed with so much choice... Great to read that you are happy with the creams! I like No7 products a lot.
