Happy Wednesday Lovelies!
Today's post is my second of my Designer Spotlight series - you can see the first one here. This time I'm focusing on Saint Laurent, the iconic French Fashion House founded by Yves Saint Laurent & his partner Pierre Berge in 1961. Credited for creating the Tuxedo Suit, no one can deny the influence Saint Laurent had on the way we viewed fashion over the years.
I've pulled together some of my favourite pieces from Saint Laurent...
The Tuxedo Jacket
Probably the most iconic Saint Laurent Design this made trouser suits totally acceptable & wearable for women. The classic black is the original & best in my opinion - I also love this seasons velvet blazers, especially the berry velvet.
The Tribute pumps are instantly recognisable Saint Laurent, worn by countless celebrities/ fashionistas & have inspired many replicas on the High Street.
Similarly, the Jane sandal has been the sandal to wear this SS. I have a pair in white from Zara & they're just so versatile & sexy.
Onto my favourite subject. Monogramed bags have always been iconic Saint Laurent with the unmistakable YSL lettering on the front of each bag. I adore the tassled monogrammed bags especially. More recently, the Sac Du Jour has become one of the must-have classic totes.
After falling in love with my lipstick pink Mini Sac Du Jour I'm definitely tempted to buy one of the full size totes this season.
One of the most recognisable pieces of jewellery, but sadly no longer available is the arty ring. More recently the jewellery designs have become more edgy with studs & buckles.
Does Saint Laurent inspire you as a brand? What are your favourite Saint Laurent pieces?
Wishing you all a wonderful week
