Happy Wednesday Lovelies!
With Halloween in just a couple of days I've been looking for inspiring, creative ways to decorate my pumpkins this year. Below you'll find 10 easy ways to create tasteful pumpkin displays to decorate your home this Halloween...
1. The Traditional Jack-O-Lantern
Cut the top off your pumpkin, carefully scoop out the middle & using a sharp knife carve a scary face into the pumpkin (it's always a good idea to draw the face on first so you know where to cut). Place a lit tealight inside & replace the lid of the pumpkin.
If you're feeling fancy, spray your pumpkins black - I love how the light shows the face up even more!
2. Personalised Pumpkin Place Settings
If you're entertaining this Halloween why not create a personalised place setting for each guest. Using either gold spray paint, or gold leafing cover half a mini pumpkin with the gold. Use some natural gift tags to write the initial or name of your guest on the card & attach to the pumpkin using natural twine.
3. Glitter Pumpkin
Using glue, paint the glue over the top third of your pumpkin. Sprinkle with glitter to cover the glue - I love the idea of mixing orange with gold glitter.
Shake off any excess.
4. Buttons & Bows
This is a super quick & easy way to create a fun atmospheric pumpkin. Using glue paint your wording onto the side of the pumpkin, attach the buttons & leave to dry. Attach a matching bow or ribbon to the pumpkin stalk et voila!
5. Drilled Pumpkin Lanterns
This is a photo of the pumpkin lanterns I made last year using a drill to create the design. I love how atmospheric they make your room. To see how I made them click HERE.
6. Multicoloured Pumpkins with glitter stalks
This has to be one of the easiest, but most eye catching ways to decorate your pumpkins. To create the best effect, choose different sized pumpkins. First, spray the stalk with glitter spray. Then, paint the pumpkin skin with vibrant colours.
7. Mummified Pumpkin
This is a safe, easy way for kids to decorate pumpkins - it's relatively mess free too! Use a bandage to wrap around the pumpkin, making sure to to criss cross at the end. Glue a pair of wobbly eyes onto the pumpkin & using a sharp pair of scissors cut a whole for a mouth.
8. Bejewelled Pumpkins
For a touch of decedance & glamour, why not bling up your pumpkin by adding some self adhesive jewels to your spray painted pumpkin. I love the effect of silver & black, or as an alternative, spray your pumpkin white & using smaller adhesive diamantes, create a swirly pattern (see below).
9. Gold Pumpkin Table Centre Piece
Go for a gorgeously gold table centre piece by spraying your pumpkins gold, collect some pine cones & spray or paint the edges gold. Scatter some gold sprayed twigs & dot a few gold coloured votives to create the ultimate halloween table.
10. Pin Your Pumpkin

Spray your pumpkin your chosen colour & using different sized multi coloured pins/tacks, pin randomly over your pumpkin once the paint has dried.
I hope this post has inspired you to get your creative juices flowing & have a go at decorating your pumpkins. If you do, take a snap with your phone & send them to me, I'd love to see!
Have a fabulous day!
